Is your family storm-proof? Come to the Bible Family Conference in Washington DC this August 10-11 and “Build Your House on the Rock!” Make it a splendid family vacation with discounted priority admission to the new Museum of the Bible and affordable Christian historical tours in the DC area!
Could your family survive a storm?
Many Christian families are in trouble…but aren’t sure what to do.
What we’re hearing from families in the storm.
[These comments are based on a survey we sent out in early June of 2018.]
Two kinds of families
1. Yes, every family goes through hard things. But some families go through hard times, relational struggles, health issues, you name it, and come out of those difficulties more firmly built on the Rock.
2. Other families are placed in the same difficult circumstances but just seem to dry up and fall apart. Parents and kids “come out of the storm” angry, hurt, jaded about life. And they part ways to more or less “do their own thing.”
What makes the difference? Listen to what Jesus says
Two thousand years ago, our Lord Jesus Christ was sitting on a mountain with His disciples and the crowds. He was delivering what we now call the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7).
Jesus ended his message with a life-and-death contrast. Pay attention to this! This is the key to understanding the difference between the families who last and the families who don’t.
[ATTENTION: Many people tend to skim-read familiar things like Bible verses. Don’t do that. Read them carefully.]
The storm is headed your way
Let’s face it. All of us are in a storm. What kind of storm? Satan hates us. He hates our families. We’re on his “To Destroy” list. And the brunt of his “blast” will be focused on what we believe and the choices we make because of our beliefs.
The Wise Man believed the rock was the best place to build. So he chose to build his house there. The Foolish Man didn’t think it was “that big a deal.” So he made the foolish choice to build on the sand.
As we live our lives, what we ACTUALLY believe is going to be shown by the choices we make. Do you truly believe that Jesus’ words are the words of eternal life? Do you believe that hearing and doing His words is the most important thing to do in life? Look at the choices you’re making right now.
So now the million dollar question: What choices are you making?
Will your family survive the storm? (Take the test)
Read through the following 5 questions and try to answer them as honestly as possible. How are you and your family doing?
1. Are you consistently reading the Bible as a family?
2. Are you regularly praying the Word over real-life situations as a family?
3. Are you consistently worshipping (“Wow, God!!”) as a family?
4. Is the Word of God changing your families’ relationships, interests, and how you study/work?
5. Is your family regularly sharing the life-giving truth of God’s Word with others?
Let’s look at your results
If you found it hard to answer “yes” to any of the five questions above…we get it. None of us are perfect. We all desperately need Jesus. That said, we need to take this seriously. To the extent that we aren’t reading, praying, worshipping through, living out, and sharing God’s Word, we’re built on the sand. We’re vulnerable to the storm.
Feeling bothered? Good! That’s the first step forward. But Christ never intended us to stay “bothered.” If your family is not firmly anchored on the Word of God, there’s only one thing to do…start building in the power of Christ and don’t ever quit!
That’s why we’re excited to share a special growth opportunity for you and your family in Washington DC this August 10-11 at…
…the Bible Family Conference!
Generations is hosting the Bible Family Conference to help families “be the wise man” and build on the rock-solid foundation of God’s Word.
With a firm reliance upon the Holy Spirit of God, the Bible Family Conference will equip you and your family to:
- Teach the Bible, that the generation to come might know the works of the Lord
- Integrate the Bible into every single school subject for your children
- Sing the Bible making melody in your heart to the Lord
- Memorize the Bible, from young to old
- Believe the Bible, no matter the cost
- Live the Bible, in all of family life
- Stand on the Bible, in a culture that has rejected its authority

Why the Bible Family Conference?
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.” — Jesus
For many Christian families, there has been a slow but steady decline in their devotion to the Word of God. The Word of God is no longer central in family life and education. As a result, their families have disintegrated because they were not “founded on the rock.”
Now is the time to lay again the foundation of God’s word in our homes. With firm reliance upon the Holy Spirit of God, the Bible Conference will equip you and your family to:
- Teach the Bible, that the generation to come might know the works of the Lord
- Integrate the Bible into every single school subject for your children
- Sing the Bible making melody in your heart to the Lord

Experience the book that shapes history! Just a short drive from the Bible Conference, explore the new Museum of the Bible with discounted group pricing for conference attendees!
The 430,000-square-foot Museum of the Bible is a unique place to engage the Bible with your family—its history, narratives, and impact. Through personal exploration, interactive media, and advanced technologies, the Bible comes to life in new ways, from the dramatic entrance to media programs, to an adventure space for children to encounter the young people of the Bible. Or visit the New Testament Theater and the World of Jesus of Nazareth, the Hebrew Bible experience, or the History of the Bible floor!
The Museum’s suggested public price is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Public admission to the museum is limited, first-come-first-served, and very possibly going to be fully booked to capacity during the busy summer season. BUT…
When you add the Museum of the Bible to your Bible Family Conference registration, you’ll be added to our priority conference group and receive GUARANTEED admission to the museum before it opens to the general public on Thursday, August 9.
Generations is also providing…

Featuring Special Music by the Foto Sisters
The music of The Foto Sisters is a charming and unique blend of sacred, classical, cinematic, and pop styles, with a hint of Celtic. Audiences across the United States have been delighted and inspired by their heartfelt melodies and graceful instrumentation. For over sixteen years, this classically-trained sibling trio has appeared in many different venues, including churches, conferences, schools, cantatas, weddings, and charity events. “It’s hard to remember life as sisters without music,” says Gaylyn.
The Foto Sisters have also performed with many nationally acclaimed artists. In 2015 the Foto Sisters were invited to perform for the National Day of Prayer at the Louisiana State Capitol. They followed this with 2016 and 2017 appearances at the Louisiana Governor’s Prayer Breakfast. They have also had opportunities to perform at the National Quartet Convention and the Creation Museum.
The group is currently working with producers Phillip Keveren and Kent Hooper and have worked with notable producers Steve Mauldin and Joshua Spacht. The Sisters have released six CD recordings, “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” (2009), “It Took a Miracle” (2011), “Morning by Morning” (2013), “Rejoice in Hope” (2015), “What Lies Beyond” (2017), and “Lullaby” (2018).

There is also additional space in the church for families to use to take breaks between or during sessions. We plan to make several sessions throughout the conference friendly for young children. See the schedule for more details.
Note: While some sessions are designed to be friendly for children, parents are responsible for their children at all times. Child oversight is NOT provided in any sessions. We recommend children be attended at all times by an adult or responsible older sibling.
